Leavers of 1993
The 17th June 2023 saw the sun shining down, the Prosecco flowing and the sumptuous nibbles devoured as a committed few made it to the leavers reunion for the 30th anniversary of our leaving HCS. We were treated to a tour of the school, a trip down memory lane, access to some memorabilia and photos from our year group. Although a small gathering, it was nonetheless warming to see faces from the past, and catch up with life stories. With individuals making the trip from both far and wide as well as some of us more local to Hereford. Mrs Miles and Mrs Hodges made the visit all the more special by joining us for our reception in number 1. The only notable changes to the school were the sports hall at the back of number one and the science block. The latter even hosting live animals in terrariums and looking so much cooler than Mr Dunn’s old chemistry room. The old Studio theatre has also been converted into a fabulous library and quiet learning space. Other than that, the changes were minimal. The old study block - exactly the same! The biggest change was meeting the new headmaster who is clearly younger than us. A sad time (haha!). Good luck to him. He has a legacy school to lead and maintain. I raise my glass to the school, the new students, old Herefordians alike and to those of 1993 who couldn’t make it. Callie Bradley (nee Wells).
