Thursday July 7My dear motherWe are taking pigs into Hawarden to-morrow so I must write this now. I've had no time to write at all as last week we worked right up to between 9.30 and 10 every night. On Sunday we went down to the river and got back back late so had no time then. It is now 10 and have only just finished work. Still ploughing.Went into Strongfield Thursday afternoon to hear lecturers -- very good -- write later.The river was fine on Sunday big waves like the sea. It's the only wash we get.I'll write a letter when my first chance comes. We were getting ready to load the pigs early tomorrow tonight.Your loving Tom
