OH in London Spring Lunch
A total of 26 OHs met at our usual pub venue beside the Thames on Thursday 17th May 2018, this becoming the 16th annual lunchtime reunion that we’ve staged in The Capital since 2004. Apart from the usual suspects present, we also welcomed THREE newcomers to the event, which this year was held in the Thomas Doggetts Bar on the second floor instead of our usual spot up on the top floor, complete with open-air balcony. Strawberries & raspberries were served with cream as a dessert after the buffet but the fruit came from overseas rather than fresh Herefordshire grown produce!HCS Development Director Claire Morgan-Jones joined us again along with Alumni Officer Helen Pearson, both of whom are seen here enjoying their meal. They had boarded the early morning train from Hereford to Paddington via Newport and brought with them the latest copies of Blue & Gold for members to take away. Claire took the opportunity to announce to us all the opening of a new Boarding House in September 2018.Alan J. Moorse MA., (Cantab) Former HCS Language Master (94) was unable to join us this time but Ian Harwood read out a message Alan sent in by e-mail offering his apologies for absence. He wished us all the best and invited anyone who still remembers him to please keep in contact.
